The Delhi Co-operative Urban T & C Society Ltd. is one of the best known thrift and credit co-operative society unmatched for its quality of highly personalized services. This society was registered with the Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Govt. of NCT of Delhi (previously Delhi Administration) on 21.03.1960 with only 11 members and was having working capital of Rs. 121/-only. The Area of operation of our society is NCT of Delhi. We have one Head/Regd. Office at Shahdara and also having Two Branches one at Shahdara and another is at Pitam Pura, (Netaji Subhash Place), New Delhi. The founder Secretary of the society was Late Shri T.C. Gupta who generated an idea in his mind to form a Co-op. Thrift & Credit Society for helping of poor and middle class people of Delhi.

A co-operative is an autonomous association of persons who voluntarily contribute and co-operate for their mutual, social, economic, and cultural benefits. Co-operatives includes non-profit community organizations and businesses that are owned and managed by the people who use its services (a consumer co-operative) or by the people who work there (a worker co-operative) or by the people who live there hybrids such as worker co-operatives that are also consumer co-operatives or credit societies, multi-stakeholder co-operatives such as those that bring together civil society and local actors to deliver community needs, and second and third tier co-operatives whose members are other co-operatives.

This society is a thrift and credit society registered in the state of NCT of Delhi and presently working in accordance with the provisions of the Delhi Co-operative Societies Act, 2003 read with the Delhi Co-operative societies Rules, 2007.
